Conquer the valley’s mountains

Valley Peaks is a free adventure video game wherein you must traverse the steep walls of challenging mountains. Developed by TubClub, Jack Chateau-Loney, and Love From Tom, this cute 3D low-poly indie game is a first-person platformer and climbing simulator that offers open-world exploration and a story-rich setting.

Highly reminiscent of A Short Hike, Valley Peaks offers a relaxing gameplay experience—although expect to struggle a bit with the camera sometimes. It offers various in-game activities outside of the main quest and you can try them in this demo version. Take note, however, that low-end PCs have a hard time running this.

Join the valley’s community

In Valley Peaks, you play as a climber tasked with scaling three mountains of a picturesque valley and placing radio towers on top of them. However, there are more than three mountains there and so after arriving, the local climbing club happily invites you to join them and try your hand at the other mountains for some sweet rewards that will help you on your journey.

For the climbing mechanics, you won’t have much of a problem as a helpful tutorial is immediately available as soon as you can control your character. There’s a bit of vertical platforming to the game, as well, since you’ll need to carefully scale walls. Aside from the main gameplay, you can collect up to 100 golden mushrooms, win three gadget upgrades, meet over 80 unique frog NPCs, and do more.

The settings menu is teeming with options, as well—allowing for in-depth configuration and even offering accessibility features. These options are pretty handy as the main issue with this game is that it has a hard time running on low-end hardware. The graphics, in particular, can get messy so it’s recommended to adjust settings like motion blur, render distance, pixelated mode, and more.

A beautiful game

All in all, Valley Peaks is an interesting platforming game that offers relaxing first-person gameplay. While it doesn’t perform well on lower-end devices, you can still adjust its graphical settings to improve things. This game features lots of content, even in its demo, and gives you different challenges in traversing up the tall mountains. This is highly recommended for fans of nature-themed games.
